The Postgraduate Student Committee (PGSC) successfully organised the PGSC May Orientation 2026 on 8 May 2026 (Friday), from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The programme was conducted at MBA Classroom and the PG Lounge, Xiamen University Malaysia.
The orientation programme was organised to welcome newly enrolled postgraduate students and to provide them with important information regarding their postgraduate studies and campus facilities. The event began with an introductory presentation on Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) and the role of the Postgraduate Student Committee (PGSC) in supporting the postgraduate student community.
Several departments were invited to deliver briefing sessions, including the Postgraduate Studies Unit (PSU), International Office, and Accommodation Office. The briefings provided students with essential guidance on academic and postgraduate matters, international student affairs, and accommodation-related information.
In addition to the briefing sessions, an ice-breaking activity was conducted at the PG Lounge to encourage interaction and engagement among the new postgraduate students. The session created a welcoming and friendly environment, allowing students to build new connections and become more comfortable within the postgraduate community.
Overall, the programme was successfully carried out and received positive participation from the attendees. The orientation helped students gain a better understanding of university procedures, available support services, and student activities, while also fostering a sense of belonging among the new postgraduate students.
