The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Loh Jian Yiing, Chiah Zi Jing, and Elton Mah Song Zhe from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering for being awarded the Best Oral Presenter and 1st Runner up at the 34th Symposium of Malaysian Chemical Engineers (SOMChE 2024).
All fours student have conducted their research under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ong Wee Jun.
The SOMChE 2024 was held from 9 to 11 July 2024 at Monash University Malaysia, providing a dynamic platform for esteemed researchers, scholars, engineers, and industry practitioners to unveil their cutting-edge research findings and innovative solutions in the field of chemical engineering and its related disciplines. The symposium aimed to foster enduring research partnerships while collectively working towards a sustainable and resource-efficient future.
Prof. Dr. Ong Wee Jun as the Keynote Speaker at the Early Career Researcher (ECR) Forum
The symposium had a total of four (4) oral presentation categories; XMUM postgraduate students managed to clinch the Best Oral Presenter Award in two (2) categories. Loh Jian Yiing was awarded the Best Oral Presenter in the “Renewable Energy and Net-Zero Engineering” category, while Chiah Zi Jing was awarded the Best Oral Presenter and Elton Mah Song Zhe was awarded the 1st Runner Up in the “Computational Chemical Engineering” category.
