May 28, 2025

The School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (STCM) at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) served as a co-organizer of the 2nd Malaysia Acupuncture Forum, held on 25 May 2025 at the AC Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

The forum was hosted by the Malaysia Acupuncture and Moxibustion Association, and brought together leading experts and scholars to exchange knowledge on the diagnosis and treatment of complex diseases in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

This year’s forum carried the theme “QiHuang Medicine for Complex and Rare Diseases (难治杂病)”, focusing on challenging clinical areas such as ophthalmology, oncology, nephrology, pediatrics, and Acupotomy therapy. The event featured in-depth discussions and presentations by renowned TCM practitioners and academic professionals, who explored innovative approaches and techniques in clinical TCM practice.

In support of the event, STCM was actively involved in the preparation process and organized a delegation of approximately 25 faculty members and students to attend the forum.

One of the key highlights of the forum was the keynote address delivered by Prof. Dr. Chen Shaodong, Dean of STCM. His lecture, titled “Diagnosis and Treatment of Common Pediatric Diseases Based on Tongue Diagnosis”, shared valuable insights from his years of clinical and teaching experience, offering a detailed exploration of diagnostic patterns and treatment methods for pediatric illnesses through tongue diagnosis.

The forum served as a valuable platform for professional development and academic collaboration, allowing students and faculty members STCM to broaden their perspectives, deepen their clinical understanding, and engage meaningfully with the wider TCM community in Malaysia.
