The opening ceremony was held in conjunction with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of IFM. Prof. Dr. Wang Huiqiong, Assistant President of XMUM, welcomed the 130 participants and expressed the gratitude to all those who supported the event, especially Prof. Dr. Tou Teck Yong (the President of IFM) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yap Seong Shan (the chair of PERFIK 2023) from XMUM Department of Physics.
It is also worth mentioning that 2023 was the 100th years anniversary of the Physics Department at Xiamen University China.
The conference invited speakers from US, China, Spain, Australia, Japan and Malaysia to share the latest development in various branches of physics such as semiconductors, astrophysics, energy, superconductors, quantum materials, transformation optics, ultrafast laser science, quantum optics, plasma, condensed matters, medicals, theoretical physics and many more.
The 3-day event included 6 plenary sessions, 13 invited sessions, 52 contributed talks and a COMSOL Multiphysics masterclass session. 6 participants won prizes for their excellent presentation in the conference.
