Four XMUM Academic Staff Secure Funding from the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme 2024

The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates four academic staff from Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) who have secured the prestigious grants under the Ministry of Higher Education’s Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS).

The four recipients, from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, China-ASEAN College of Marine Science, and School of Computing and Data Science, have collectively been awarded a total of RM 535,188.

Currently, there are 38 projects led by 35 XMUM academics that have received funding through FRGS grant, amounting to a total of RM 4,321,025.

FRGS is a research grant provided by the Ministry of Higher Education in Malaysia to support fundamental research in various disciplines such as science, engineering, social sciences, and humanities. 

The FRGS embodies the philosophy of promoting fundamental research aimed at elevating intellectual standards, fostering innovation in technology, and enriching a dynamic cultural landscape, aligning with the national aspirations of Malaysia.
