16 Teams Bring Awards Home in 1st China-Malaysia Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

The Innovation Center congratulates XMUM students for their excellent achievements in the 1st China-Malaysia Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. The Award Ceremony was held on 23 October 2019, in China Cultural Center, Kuala Lumpur. 16 teams from Xiamen University Malaysia received awards for their outstanding performance, including 4 first prizes, 6 second prizes and 6 third prizes.

This year, the competition was initiated by the Promotion Association of Global Youth Innovation Leaders Community (PILC), co-organizer of China “Internet+” College Students Innovation and Competition (international track) and jointly organized by Xiamen University Malaysia, TusStar (Malaysia) and Malaysian National Young Graduates Co-operative. The event was supported by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia and Malaysia-China Friendship Association, with the sponsorship by DREAM FLY EDUCATION SDN BHD. A total of 169 university students participated and showcased their innovation projects in the event.

Counsellor Yu Jun from the Embassy of China in Malaysia attended the Award Ceremony as the honorable guest. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of technology development, and expressed his hope that the competition will exert great impact on the whole world. 

During the award ceremony, the four First-Prize winners from XMUM were also invited to present their innovation projects to the audience. An exhibition of the projects’ posters was also set up to showcase the participants’ ideas.
